i) Private message individual users rather than sending blanket DMs that everyone who follows you gets in their inboxes which could be quite annoying if they are not interested in what you are promoting at that time;

ii) Use DMs for asking questions about your products or services;

iii) Use DMs for asking questions about general customer service related issues;

iv) Personalize your DMs by inserting the name of the receiver in the message;

v) Let people know when they receive a DM; i.e., “You have received a DM from us today which means we have something important to tell you” so they know not to ignore it if it turns out to be an important message from your company; and lastly

vi) Do not spam people with DMs since nothing is more annoying than getting random DMs from strangers who just want to sell you something or who have nothing better to do than to reach out to strangers wanting their attention because there is nothing else going on in their life at that moment :). Here are some additional ideas to help you promote your brand through LinkedIn:

a) Connect With Influencers – connect with people who have a large personal network on LinkedIn including famous people in the industry whose personal network could help spread the word about your brand even beyond the boundaries of LinkedIn since they could be followed by millions of people outside LinkedIn who may never join LinkedIn due to privacy concerns or lack of time but still want access to news and information about their favorite stars via social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.;

b) Send InMail Messages – this is an excellent way to promote your brand since InMail messages reach prospects directly unlike email messages which go into spam folders due to lack of interest in the subject line and reputation issues that prevent emails from reaching prospects’ inboxes directly; and finally:
